How a Nurse Registry Works

A short, plain-language explainer for families considering nurse-registry care.

In one sentence: Gulfside Living Healthcare Services, LLC is a Florida-licensed nurse registry that connects you with credentialed, independently licensed Florida nurses and caregivers who can provide care in your home.

The Five Steps

  1. Request. You call us, email us, or fill out the Care Request form on our website. Tell us what kind of help you need, where, and roughly when.
  2. Match. We talk with you (or your authorized family member) for 15 to 30 minutes to understand your situation, the level of care needed, and your preferences. We pull from our active referral pool to identify qualified contractors who can meet your needs.
  3. Meet. We share the contractor's professional information with you. You meet the contractor before services begin when possible. You can decline any contractor and ask for a different qualified candidate.
  4. Care begins. Once you and the contractor agree on the schedule and the contractor is in your home, care starts. You are the client; the contractor delivers the care; we coordinate the placement and handle billing.
  5. Follow-up and ongoing support. We check in with you to make sure the placement is working. If anything needs to change — a different schedule, a different contractor, an additional discipline — call us and we will adjust the placement.

What We Do (and Don't Do)

  • We DO recruit, credential, screen, and refer Florida-licensed contractors.
  • We DO coordinate scheduling and handle client billing.
  • We DO maintain client communication and resolve placement issues.
  • We DO NOT employ caregivers as W-2 staff. All contractors are independent (1099) professionals.
  • We DO NOT directly provide clinical care or supervise clinical decision-making.
  • We DO NOT maintain your medical record. Contractors document under provider orders.

Why a Nurse Registry Instead of an Agency?

  • Continuity. You can request the same contractor each visit instead of getting whoever is on rotation.
  • Choice. You see the contractor's credentials before they arrive and can decline a placement.
  • Transparency. You see the rate charged and what the contractor is paid.
  • Cost. Without the overhead of W-2 employment, rates are often more competitive for the same level of credentialing.
  • Flexibility. You can adjust the schedule directly with the contractor, with us in coordination.
